Along with the usual hashbrown breakfast casserole and orange rolls for breakfast, I also made a giant crock pot of HOT CHOCOLATE!
Because while the girls and I were in Austin for a day, the weather in Dallas went from 92 degrees to 54 degrees...overnight! And anything less than 70 degrees in Texas is officially hot chocolate weather!
This stuff was SO easy, I was tempted to throw together another pot for breakfast this morning, but I decided that I should probably save it for the next special occasion...like um, Columbus Day???
First, you find a bag of these at the grocery store...and you open it and set a bowl of them out on the counter so your whole kitchen smells like fall.
Then you drag out the crock pot and start throwing things in.
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1/2 C baking cocoa
1 1/2 T vanilla
7 C water
1 container Cool Whip
(I doubled this recipe because we had two missionaries with us for Conference yesterday.)
Mix everything together and let it simmer in the crockpot on HIGH for two hours or LOW for four hours.
Then assemble your cocoa bar decorations...
Mini Chocolate Chips
Pumpkin Spice marshmallows
Pour into your favorite mug and POOF! Deliciously rich, decadent hot cocoa that tastes like it came from Starbucks! You must try this sometime during the next three months!
